This is a personal piece.

I drew out and inked three different layers on paper then compiled them together and colored them digitally.

I am working on getting this printed.

		<description>Noir Tribute

I made these portraits for a blog entry on four noir films that I really enjoy. I picked scenes from the films that I thought show off the characters calm and cool attitudes, their strength or their grace.

From left to right they are:

Allen Baron in Blast of Silence
Eddie Constantine in Alphaville
Constance Towers in The Naked Kiss
Alain Delon in Le Samouraï

Each were drawn out separately, inked, then compiled and colored digitally.

Final piece, close-ups and original sketches below:

		<description>Roadhouse

I contributed this month to Silver Screen Society's tribute to How Did This Get Made? special by doing an illustration inspired by the classic film "Roadhouse."

This month, February 2013, Silver Screen Society has picked artists to make work based on movies featured on the podcast How Did This Get Made? hosted by Paul Scheer.

Roadhouse is just one of those movies that has stuck with me since I was a kid. Patrick Swayze and Sam Elliott beating up angry small town Missouri folk just really was a sight to see.

I drew out and inked Swayze and the Double Deuce roadhouse separately and added color and text digitally.

Finished illustration, close-ups and a start to finish animation below:

&#60;img src="http://payload133.cargocollective.com/1/2/70959/4973814/ROADHOUSE-WM_640.jpg" width="640" height="404" width_o="850" height_o="537" src_o="http://payload133.cargocollective.com/1/2/70959/4973814/ROADHOUSE-WM_o.jpg" data-mid="26630570" border="0" align="left"/&#62;&#60;img src="http://payload133.cargocollective.com/1/2/70959/4973814/1.1.jpg" width="611" height="382" width_o="611" height_o="382" src_o="http://payload133.cargocollective.com/1/2/70959/4973814/1.1_o.jpg" data-mid="26630566" border="0" align="left"/&#62;&#60;img src="http://payload133.cargocollective.com/1/2/70959/4973814/2.2.jpg" width="611" height="382" width_o="611" height_o="382" src_o="http://payload133.cargocollective.com/1/2/70959/4973814/2.2_o.jpg" data-mid="26630567" border="0" align="left"/&#62;&#60;img src="http://payload133.cargocollective.com/1/2/70959/4973814/prog-gif-2.gif" width="650" height="414" width_o="650" height_o="414" src_o="http://payload133.cargocollective.com/1/2/70959/4973814/prog-gif-2_o.gif" data-mid="26630713" border="0" align="left"/&#62;</description>

		<description>Dead Man

I made this piece for Silver Screen Society's November film, Dead Man. Silver Screen Society picks a film each month and artists contribute work inspired by the film.

Dead Man is a black and white western directed by Jim Jarmusch and stars Johnny Depp, Gary Farmer, Lance Henrickson, Robert Mitchum and more. More info on the film can be found here: IMDB.

Pen and ink on paper with digital color.

Final illustration, close-ups, and progress animations below. The last animation is of my sketching and revising process.

		<description>L. Dycus Forever

I met this nice lady through a friend many years ago and this illustration is kind of an inside joke. I made it to "show my love" to her. Her last name is Dycus.

I photoshopped myself giving myself a tattoo of it on my back and then took another picture to make it look like it was a fresh tattoo. I confused some of her friends for sure.

Jokes are good.

Final inked drawing, photoshopped tattoo pictures and a progress sketch below:

<description>Pharmacy Boys Promotional Art &#38; Poster

Pharmacy Boys is a comic I am going to be self-publishing. I've decided to do all the duties in the creation of this limited series. I'm in the process of finishing the writing for the first issue. The plot revolves around two guys who work for a "pharmacist" in a small town and, of course, things will not go right.

This image features the three main characters, the Pharmacy and some medicine bottles. I sketched my idea out, then I inked it on paper. Then I colored and added type digitally.

Full poster, close-ups and a progress animation:

		<description>Angus Tribute Poster

For my friend's birthday I offered to make him a poster of any movie he wanted. He chose "Angus." I watched it and found the most awkward and sweaty scene of the title character. I felt this was a nice representation of the feelings the character has for the majority of the film.

Finished poster, close ups and a progress animation:

<description>Out Of The Blue Screening Poster

This was made to promote a screening of the Dennis Hopper film Out Of The Blue. A screening was held at Domy Books in Houston which was put on by Calico Grounds and Mystic Crystal Revelations Movie Club.

I did some illustrations for handbills that were printed that had an essay by Jesco Aurelius. This poster wasn't printed or sold, it was made just to promote the event through social media.

Everything was drawn out in pen and ink on paper except the credits.

You can see the handbill which had a different illustration of actress Linda Manz here.

Full poster, close ups and a progress shot below:
